WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Allegheny women's swimming team traveled to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Washington and Jefferson Saturday (Jan. 17).
 
The Gators fell to the Presidents 140-128 but won eight events.
 
Anna Kohler (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) and Josephine Reiter (Pittsburgh, Pa./CAPA) both won a pair of individual races to lead the way for the Gators. Kohler's wins both came in the butterfly events. She captured the 100 with a time of 1:07.84 and the 200 with a time of 2:24.00. Reiter swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100 with a time of 1:10.82 and the 200 with a time of 2:38.15.
 
Emily Arendas (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) was first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 27.28 while Kerrigan Swartz (Brookville, Pa./Brookville Area) was second with a time of 27.43. They swapped placements in the 100 freestyle with Swartz winning with a time of 1:00.22 and Arendas taking second at 1:01.74.
 
Olivia Johnson (Trafford, Pa./Penn-Trafford) collected the other individual victory for Allegheny in the 1,650 freestyle, winning the event with a time of 21:30.81. Miranda Fanning (Tiffin, Ohio/Columbian) was second in the event with a time of 22:09.62.
 
Magnolia Myers (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Our Lady of the Elms) had a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100 and 200 backstrokes with times of 1:10.76 and 2:32.36. Grace Melocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) also placed second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:57.05.
 
The 200 freestyle relay team of Swartz, Arendas, Melocchi and Reiter ended the afternoon with a winning time of 1:51.03. The 200 medley relay team of Avery Faller (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area), Fanning, Johnson and Ryann Fishel (Cleveland, Ohio/Beaumont School) were second with a time of 2:27.82.
