GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Allegheny women's swimming and diving team earned points in three events on day two of the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships Thursday (Feb. 19), hosted by Grove City.
The Gators competed in the 500 freestyle, 50 freestyle and the 400 medley relay.
Grace Melocchi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) and
Miranda Fanning (Tiffin, Ohio/Columbian) qualified for the B Finals of the 500 freestyle. Melocci touched the wall at 5:38.02 to place 11th overall while Fanning took 15th with a time of 5:53.25.
The B Finals of the 50 freestyle saw Allegheny represented by four swimmers. They ended up finishing 11th through 14th.
Anna Kohler (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) led the way for the Gators with an 11th place finish (26.08).
Emily Arendas (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) placed 12th (26.15),
Kerrigan Swartz (Brookville, Pa./Brookville Area) was 13th (26.41) and
Josephine Reiter (Pittsburgh, Pa./CAPA) rounded out the lineup in 14th (26.61).
The Gators concluded the night with the 400 medley relay. The team of
Magnolia Myers (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Our Lady of the Elms), Reiter, Kohler and Swartz finished in third place, touching the wall with a time of 4:13.12. Arendas, Melocchi,
Olivia Johnson (Trafford, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and Fanning also competed, taking ninth with a time of 4:33.32.
After two days of events, the Gators are in fourth place with 148 points.
