TRAFFORD, Pa. – Connor Bell (Montrose, Colo./Montrose) of the men's golf team was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week after earning medalist honors at the Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Invitational.
Bell finished the 36-hole event at the Meadville Country Club tied for first place with an overall score of 141 (-3). He took home the medalist honor via the tiebreaker, which was the best second round score. Bell shot a 74 for the first round and entered the final 18 four strokes off the lead. He carded his best career performance in the second round with a five-under 67, two shots better than Carnegie Mellon's Will Blankenship's round. In the round, he shot par or better on 17 holes with six birdies. He helped the Gators finish second in the field of 13 teams.
The Gators are back in action Sept. 28-29 at the Northeast Elite Invitational held at the Williamsport Country Club.
