PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rewarded the Allegheny College men's golf team with two weekly awards following a strong performance at the season-opening Ted Barclay Invitational.
After leading the Gators to a sixth-place finish at Denison University's annual tournament, senior
Dylan Kochis (Saint Augustine, Fla./B. Reed Henderson (Pa.)) was named the PAC Player of the Week, and freshman
Christopher Hoffman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was tabbed the Newcomer of the Week.
Kochis paced Allegheny with a 5-over 147, five strokes shy of the individual medalist. He tied for 14th place individually after carding a 74 (+3) on Saturday and a 73 (+2) on Sunday. Four of his six birdies came on the back nine during the first round, and he added two more on the front nine on Sunday.
In his collegiate debut, Hoffman tied for 25th place with rounds of 75 (+4) and 74 (+3). His work on the back nine was impeccable, as he finished par or better on every hole from the 10th through 18th on both days. Hoffman finished a combined 3-under with a trio of birdies on the back nine.
Kochis, Hoffman, and the rest of the men's golf team will return to action on Sunday, September 21, and Monday, September 22, for the annual Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational at the Country Club of Meadville.
