GRANVILLE, Ohio -- Allegheny College men's golf started the 2025-26 season with a sixth-place performance at the annual Ted Barclay Invitational, hosted by Denison University at the Denison Country Club on Saturday and Sunday.

The Gators carded rounds of 301 and 306 for a two-day cumulative 607 (+39). They began Sunday's round tied with Randolph-Macon College, but Allegheny was five strokes better than the Yellow Jackets on Sunday afternoon. John Carroll University took home the tournament championship with a 574 (+6) after turning in back-to-back scores of 287.

Allegheny placed two inside the top 25 out of a field of 67 individual competitors. Senior Dylan Kochis (Saint Augustine, Fla./B. Reed Henderson (Pa.)) was one of six golfers tied for 14th place with a 36-hole score of 147 (+5). Kochis birdied four holes on the back nine on Saturday and added two more on the front nine on Sunday. Freshman Christopher Hoffman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was only two strokes behind Kochis in a tie for 25th place at 149 (+7). Hoffman was superb on the back nine on both days, as he finished 1-under with a birdie on the 17th on Saturday and 2-under with birdies on the 16th and 18th on Sunday.
