PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released the results of its annual men's cross country preseason coaches' poll and runners-to-watch list Wednesday morning.
The top half of the 12-team preseason poll featured five teams with at least one first-place vote, while the teams in second through sixth place were separated by only 13 points. Allegheny finished fourth with 94 points and two first-place votes. The Gators were only four points shy of second-place Grove City College (98) and two points behind defending PAC champion Franciscan University (96).
Geneva College, the runner-up at the 2024 PAC Championships, topped the poll with 112 points and a conference-leading five first-place votes. The Gators are scheduled to host this year's PAC Championships at the Robertson Athletic Complex on Saturday, November 1.
Allegheny placed two student-athletes on the PAC's list of runners to watch this fall. Seniors
Cole Jooste (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth), a three-time All-PAC honoree, were both recognized.
The Gators open the 2025 season at the Doug Watts Open at PennWest Edinboro on Saturday, September 6, at 11 a.m.
