Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) and senior
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) led the Allegheny College men's cross country team with top-30 finishes at the largest race of the season, the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College.
Saturday's race featured more than 34 teams from all levels of collegiate competition throughout the Northeast and 316 total finishers. Allegheny placed 12th overall and eighth among Division III teams with 416 points. Five of the six Gators who ran the eight-kilometer course recorded new personal records.
Biss and Freeman led the way in 24th and 29th place, respectively. For Biss, his 25:49.0 was nearly three minutes better than his previous 8K PR from Allegheny's home meet, the Ben Mourer '07 Memorial Classic on September 20. Freeman wasn't far behind at 25:55.2, as he shaved more than 14 seconds off of his previous best from the 2023 Aubrey Shenk Invitational.
