MEADVILLE, Pa -- The Allegheny College men's cross country kicked off Saturday's Blue and Gold Weekend celebration with the Ben Mourer '07 Memorial Classic at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
The Gators finished third on the table with a total of 63 points. Baldwin Wallace University took home the team crown with 15 points, followed by Oakland Community College with 58. Runners from Carlow University and Penn State Beaver – and several Allegheny alumni – also competed.
The Blue and Gold were highlighted by an eighth-place effort from
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver). Biss' ran the eight-kilometer course in 28:24.6.
Max Bambeck (Dover, Ohio/Dover) and
Samuel Gwitt (Buffalo, N.Y./Nichols) followed the speedy sophomore as they jostled for 25th and 27th place, respectively. Bambeck finished with 30:47.6 on the stopwatch, while Gwitt followed 5.3 seconds after his teammate.
Among the many former Gator runners,
Cole Jooste '26 was the first to cross the finish line in 14th place at 28:59.0.
