EDINBORO, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's cross country team began the new season at PennWest Edinboro's Doug Watts Invitational on Saturday.
Allegheny was joined by several other Pennsylvania-based institutions, all members of NCAA Division I and Division II. The Gators fought their way to a sixth-place finish on the day with a score of 156 points.
Two Gators,
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) and
Lukas Czegan (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic), found themselves among the top-50 runners. Bliss, a 2025 All-PAC honorable mention, battled his way into 12th place. The sophomore's effort registered a time of 20:34.90.
Czegan placed 47th in his collegiate debut, crossing the finish line at 21:55.00. The rookie's strong start was accentuated after staving off Slippery Rock University's Dom Buumblis and crossing the threshold 0.2 seconds before his D-II foe.
