MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Two runners from the Allegheny College men's cross country team earned All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) honors at the 2025 PAC Championships, hosted by the Gators Saturday at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
Senior
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) and freshman
Tyler Biss (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) paced the Gators in the eight-kilometer race. For the fourth year in a row, Freeman earned a spot on the All-PAC Second Team by placing eighth out of 100 runners with a time of 27:36.4. It marks the best of his career at the PAC Championships. In his championship debut, Biss came in 15th place at 28:05.8.
Two other Gators were in the top half of the field on Saturday. Senior
Patrick Sharp (Brighton, N.Y./Brighton) navigated the 8K course at Robertson in 29:33.5, good enough for 34th place. Classmate
Cole Jooste (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair) logged his best career finish at a conference championship in 46th place with a time of 30:16.2.
Despite significant rain in the days leading up to the PAC Championships, the men's 8K featured plenty of sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures. It was a stark contrast to the conditions at Robertson the last time the Gators hosted a championship meet as members of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in 2013. As a team, Allegheny was sixth out of nine teams with 131 points.
Geneva College claimed the 2025 PAC title with a commanding 38-to-71 lead over second-place Grove City College. Washington and Jefferson College's Dom Flitcraft used an equally impressive performance to capture the individual championship, as his time of 26:51.6 was nearly 25 seconds quicker than the runner-up.
