Four Gators Qualify for 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships

NCAA Release | NCAA Championships Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS --
Four student-athletes from the Allegheny College men's and women's track and field teams were selected to participate in the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, as announced by the NCAA on Friday night.

This year's outdoor championships will be held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, from Thursday, May 22, through Saturday, May 24. For each individual event, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.

The 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Track and Field Athlete of the Year, Aaron Moon (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock), will compete in the long jump next Thursday at 2:30 p.m. He qualified for nationals at the University of Mount Union's Last Chance Meet, setting a new program record during the decathlon at 7.26 meters. Moon's record-setting jump has him seeded 19th overall.

For the second year in a row, Elizabeth Lubold (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) qualified for the javelin at Mount Union's Last Chance meet days before the field was announced. The third-year thrower hit a season-best 41.29 meters on Wednesday, tied for the 18th-best mark in the nation entering the outdoor championships. The javelin will be held on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

Senior Laila Davis (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) will compete on the national stage for the first time. Davis set a new personal record in her hammer throw victory at Denison University. Her best toss measured 52.59 meters, which ranks 19th in Division III. The hammer is scheduled for Saturday, May 22, at 11:00 a.m.

Allegheny's final competitor at the NCAA Outdoor Championships will be distance specialist Chloe Bonson (Penn Township, Pa./Penn-Trafford). Bonson, who also ran at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in the fall, punched her ticket to the SPIRE in the 5,000-meter race. Her qualifying time of 16:43.76 from Bucknell University's Bison Outdoor Classic was a PR and clocked in as the 21st fastest 5K in the country. Bonson will race on Saturday afternoon at 4:25 p.m.
