GENEVA, Ohio – Elizabeth Lubold (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) of the Allegheny women's track and field team earned Second Team All-America honors in the javelin at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday (May 22), held at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
For Lubold, this marked her second straight year competing at nationals. She earned a spot at this year's championships after throwing a season-best mark of 41.29 meters at Mount Union's Last Chance Meet last week.
The junior's first toss of the event, which went 38.01 meters, proved to be her best of the day. That throw earned her a 15th place finish and Second Team All-American honors, becoming the fourth Gator on the women's team to earn All-American status in the event. Her second throw went 33.56 meters while her final throw was 31.15 meters.
Lubold improved her distance from last year's event when she placed 19th in 2024 with a toss of 37.57 meters.
Avery Deck from Nebraska Wesleyan won the event with a distance of 48.70 meters.
