BOARDMAN, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's golf team concluded the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Spring Championships in third place following Saturday's final round at Mill Creek's North Course.
The Gators took home bronze for the second time in three seasons in the PAC. The now seven-time defending champions from Westminster College finished first with a 72-hole score of 1,337 (+193). Washington and Jefferson College followed closely in second place at 1,352 (+208), while Allegheny turned in a cumulative team score of 1,435 (+291). The Gators held a 63-stroke advantage over fourth-place Thiel College (1,498, +354).
After moving three spots up the leaderboard into fourth place on Friday, senior
Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph) ended in a two-way tie for fourth with W&J's Julia Barthelemy. Both golfers carded a four-round total of 336 (+50), including their two rounds from the PAC Fall Championships in October. Gomez matched yesterday's score with a 12-over 82, although she was more successful on the back nine today with five pars on the last seven holes.Â
By placing inside the top five, Gomez became the first women's golfer to earn All-PAC First Team honors.
Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central) also earned All-PAC recognition as an honorable mention for the second year in a row. The junior, who tied for 14th place with a 359 (+73), was one of three Gators to score 91 (+21) on Saturday alongside
Ada Coté (West Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) and
Kessler Potter (Kents Store, Va./Fluvanna County). Coté just missed out on an All-PAC award, as the first-year Gator finished in 16th place.
Senior
Sara Karns (Tarentum, Pa./Highlands) was also recognized at the tournament as Allegheny's representative on the PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior, and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
