GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's golf team opened the fall portion of the 2025-26 season at Denison University's Lynn Schweitzer Invitational at the Denison Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
In a strong field of 13 teams, the Gators finished in 11th place with a two-day total 738 (+158). Allegheny finished five strokes ahead of Muskingum University (743, +163) and 12 strokes ahead of the College of Wooster (750, +170). At the top of the leaderboard, the team from Randolph-Macon College held a comfortable 26-stroke advantage over the runners up from Denison and won with a cumulative 599 (+19).
Individually,
Kessler Potter (Kents Store, Va./Fluvanna County) paced the Blue and Gold by tying for 24th place with a 36-hole score of 162 (+17). Potter's best round was on Saturday, when she carded a 79 (+6) with birdies on the par-5 12th and 15th holes.
Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central), who also birdied the 15th on Saturday, was the team's second-best finisher in a tie for 41st place. Corey fired a 171 (+26), highlighted by an 82 (+10) on Sunday with another birdie on the par-3 fourth.Â
