PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's track and field team won two weekly awards from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), as
Aaron Moon (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock) was named the Field Athlete of the Week and
Cameron Sadler (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) was crowned Newcomer of the Week.
Moon had a pair of top-five performances at Baldwin Wallace University's Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge. He was the runner-up in the long jump at 6.86 meters, which ranks second-best in the PAC behind his own indoor personal record of 7.02 meters from the Spartan Alumni Meet in December. He then set a PR in the high jump by clearing 1.91 meters on his second attempt, which was good enough for fifth place. Moon's high jump also ranks second-best in the conference this season.
A first-year thrower, Sadler continued his strong debut campaign with two top-10 efforts at BWU. In the shot put, he set a new personal record at 12.44 meters, an improvement of 0.44 meters from his last performance at Houghton University on January 25. The standout freshman also reached 13.44 meters in the weight throw. Sadler was ninth out of 21 competitors in the shot put and 10th out of 23 in the weight throw. His shot put PR currently ranks seventh in the PAC.
The Gators return to action on Friday, February 7, when Allegheny visits Oberlin College for the Dan Kinsey Invite. The meet is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start.
