PAC Release

TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Allegheny College's Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Track and Field Newcomer of the Week following a strong showing at Oberlin College's Dan Kinsey Invite last Friday.

Ellenberger, an All-PAC selection for the women's tennis team in the fall, received her first track and field award of the season.

At Oberlin, the Pittsburgh native took second in the long jump at 5.18 meters. She was the top collegiate athlete in the event but finished as the runner-up behind her coach, Tara Gologram. In her other field event, Ellenberger placed seventh in the pole vault at 2.72 meters. On the track, the first-year standout logged a personal-record time of 8.36 meters in the 60-meter dash. She placed third out of 17 total sprinters in the event.

Within the PAC, Ellenberger ranks fourth in the long jump and sixth in the 60-meter dash.

The Allegheny women's track and field team will travel to its final regular-season meet of the indoor season on Saturday, February 15, at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games in Geneva, Ohio.
