TRAFFORD, Pa. – Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) of the Allegheny track and field team was named as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Field Athlete of the Week for her performance during the Gator's opening weekend.
 
Ellenberger competed at Case Western Reserve's Spartan Alumni Classic Saturday (Dec. 6). During the event, Ellenberger broke a 32-year-old Allegheny record in the long jump with a winning leap of 5.62 meters, besting the previous record of 5.44 meters set by Jody Matthews in 1993. That distance is currently fourth best in Division III. Additionally, Ellenberger placed second in the triple jump with an indoor personal-best distance of 10.85 meters, currently 28th in Division III.
 
The Gators are off until January 17 when they compete at John Carroll.
