WARREN, Ohio --
The Allegheny College men's golf team took another step toward a third consecutive title during the second round of the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Fall Championships on Tuesday.

The Gators, who held a three-stroke lead over Grove City College on Monday, widened their cushion to nine strokes during the second round. Allegheny matched its first-round team score with another 300 (+12) and will enter the spring portion of the 72-hole championship at 600 (+24).

Washington and Jefferson College leapfrogged Grove City and moved into second place with a 36-hole total of 609 (+33). The Wolverines aren't far behind with a 614 (+38) despite adding eight strokes to their first-round total.

First-year Christopher Hoffman (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) and senior Dylan Kochis (Saint Augustine, Fla./B. Reed Henderson (Pa.)) once again posted the best scores on the team. Both carded an even 72, tied for the best rounds by any golfer on Tuesday. The improved scores allowed Hoffman to move from fourth to second place while Kochis jumped from eighth to fifth. The freshman standout was par-or-better on 16 holes with four birdies and Kochis led all Gators on Monday with five birdies.

Hoffman trails the fall medalist, Luke Gronbeck of Grove City, by six strokes. Gronbeck followed up his 5-under 67 from the opening round with an even-par 72 on Tuesday, equaling a cumulative 139.

Sophomore Mekayl Maajid (Lahore, Pakistan/Roots Ivy International) held onto his position in 10th place with a 5-over 77. For the second day in a row, Maajid recorded an eagle on a par-5, as he completed the 490-yard third hole in three shots.
