WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's track and field team won three events en route to a third-place performance at the Wooster Invitational, hosted by the College of Wooster on Saturday inside the Scot Center.
Allegheny finished third with 102 points in the six-team standings. Wittenberg University won the first meet of 2025 with 155 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan University with 127. The Gators held a significant margin over fourth-place Kenyon College, beating the Owls by 31.
Three Gators earned individual victories, two of which were earned in the field events.
Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) began her indoor season with a strong showing in the throws. The senior won the weight throw with a mark of 13.18 meters. She was the only thrower to surpass 13 meters in the event and beat the runner-up from Kenyon by nearly a full meter. Miller also placed second in the shot put by clearing 11.60 meters on her second-to-last attempt.
An All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) honoree in tennis,
Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) earned her first-ever track victory in her second collegiate meet. Not only was she victorious in the long jump, but any of her six attempts would have placed her atop the podium as the only athlete to surpass the five-meter mark. Her winning jump of 5.27 meters ranks third all-time in program history, while teammate
Aubryanna Snyder (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) finished in second place at 4.85 meters.
On the track, junior
Chloe Bonson (Penn Township, Pa./Penn-Trafford) impressed in the 3,000-meter race. She won the event with a time of 10:28.06, nearly seven seconds better than the runner-up from Wittenberg. Bonson's time was a personal record and an All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifier.
