Uviedo Joins Field Hockey Staff as Assistant Coach

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Second-year head coach Lauren Thomas is pleased to announce the addition of former Division II student-athlete Brisa Uviedo as an assistant coach for the Allegheny College field hockey program.

Uviedo was a three-year member of the field hockey team at the University of Mount Olive, a D-II member of the Conference Carolinas. During her three seasons with the Trojans, the team posted a 35-15 overall record, including a program-record 15-win campaign in 2023 that saw UMO reach as high as No. 4 in the national rankings. As a midfielder and defender, Uviedo appeared in 44 games with 20 starts and logged three career points (1g-1a).

In the classroom, she was a three-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II National Academic Squad selection.

During her prep career at Thomas A. Edison High School in Alexandria, Virginia, Uviedo received a multitude of accolades for her performance on the turf. In the fall of 2017, she was crowned her conference's Player of the Year before earning a spot on the All-Virginia High School League (VHSL) 5A All-State Second Team.

In addition to her field hockey experience, Uviedo represented Argentina at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women's World Championships and the 2023 Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA) Sixes Cup.

As a coach, Uviedo previously served as the head JV coach at South County High School in Lorton, Virginia, and as a youth coach for NoVa Field Hockey Xtreme.

Uviedo graduated from Mount Olive with a bachelor's in exercise science in December 2023.
