Field Hockey Bested By Brockport, 3-0

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Competing on the back end of a Friday-Saturday doubleheader, the Allegheny College field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to SUNY Brockport in a neutral-site contest at Juniata College on Saturday afternoon.

For the first time in the young season, Allegheny's (1-2) high-scoring offense was held without a goal. The Gators netted six in the opener against Keuka College and four more in a narrow loss to Juniata on Friday, but were limited to just 10 shots and five penalty corners by the Golden Eagles (2-0).

Brockport took an early lead, scoring on its first shot attempt at 3:02 in the first quarter. The Golden Eagles were then awarded a penalty stroke five minutes later, but goalie Rowan O'Toole (Glen Burnie, Md./Archbishop Spalding) denied Penelope Schalck with a tremendous save.

Although Brockport added two more goals in the second quarter, O'Toole and the Gator defense held the Golden Eagles off the scoreboard in the second half.
