ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Allegheny field hockey team stayed on the road Sunday (Sept. 13) as they traveled to St. John Fisher, falling to the Cardinals 4-0.
The Cardinals scored the lone goal of the opening frame about five minutes in to take the lead.
In the second quarter, the Gators produced three shots, including on goal by
Bryce Watford (Parkville, Md./Eastern Technical), but was unable to put one in the back of the net as they trailed 1-0 at the half.
Late in the third quarter, the Cardinals scored twice, including one goal on a penalty stroke to push their advantage to 3-0. In the 15 minute frame, Watford had three attempts on goal while
Caroline Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) had three and
Jamie Marchewka (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) had one.
St. John Fisher scored their final goal less than two minutes into the fourth. Watford had another chance on goal in the frame, which was saved, as the Gators dropped the road contest.
