PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's cross country team was picked to finish fifth out of 11 teams in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) during the upcoming 2024 campaign.
The PAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, released on Friday, predicts the Gators will place fifth at the PAC Championships. Allegheny earned 61 points, two more than sixth-place Franciscan University and 10 more than seventh-place Waynesburg University.
Saint Vincent College and Washington and Jefferson College topped the annual poll with 90 points and 89 points, respectively. Geneva College wasn't far behind with 83 total points, followed by Grove City College in fourth place with 70 points.
Three Allegheny student-athletes were highlighted by the PAC on the Runners to Watch List. That included juniors
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) and
Cole Jooste (Upper Saint Clair, Pa./Upper Saint Clair), as well as second-year runner
Nick Gallo (Chester, W.Va./Oak Glen). Last season, Freeman was the second Gator to reach the finish line at the PAC Championships, and his 12th-place performance was good enough for All-PAC Second Team honors.
