PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced the results of its 2024 women's soccer preseason coaches' poll on Tuesday, with Allegheny College coming in sixth place in the 11-team conference.
After finishing in a tie for seventh in the standings in 2023 with a 4-5-1 conference record, the Gators were predicted to finish with a playoff spot this fall. Allegheny received 48 points in the preseason poll, three more than Franciscan University, the 2023 PAC Championship Tournament runner-up.
Grove City College, the defending PAC champion, finished atop the ranking with 97 total points and eight of 11 possible first-place votes. Westminster College (89), Saint Vincent College (79), Washington and Jefferson College (69), and Waynesburg University (67) rounded out the top five.
The PAC also named its Players to Watch for the upcoming 2024 season. The list included four Gators, including one returning All-PAC selection.
Katherine Surdykowski (Chesterfield, N.J./Northern Burlington County Regional), an All-PAC Honorable Mention as a first-year midfielder, was one of three Allegheny sophomores selected along with forward
Casey Bender (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) and defender
Karley Johnson (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville Community). Senior forward
Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy), a 2022 All-PAC honoree, was also named to the watch list.
