MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – The Allegheny field hockey team earned several academic awards through the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for their performance in the classroom this past season.
As a team, the Gators earned the National Academic Team Award. The award is given to programs that have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester. This marks their fifth straight year earning the award.
Four members of the team earned Scholars of Distinction honors. This honor is given to student-athletes who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester.
Maya Francisco (Toledo, Ohio/Maumee Valley Country Day School),
Hannah Hinterleiter (Erie, Pa./Conneaut Area),
Maddy Keenan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Trafford) and
Samantha Mura (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit) earned the honors.
Thirteen members of the team earned a spot on the National Academic Squad. This honor is given to student-athletes who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester.
