CORTLAND, N.Y. – Aaron Moon (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock) represented the Allegheny men's track and field team at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships May 15 and 16, winning the decathlon.
 
Moon earned 6,244 total points to win the decathlon, capturing first in four of the 10 events. His score marked the third best in program history and was the 30th best in NCAA Division III this year.
 
He started the decathlon by winning three events on the first day of competition. His first win came in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.18 seconds. The second was in long jump with a leap of 7.10 meters. Both were just shy of season bests. After taking sixth in the shot put, Moon won the high jump, clearing a season-best height of 1.89 meters. In the final event of day one, Moon took seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.20 seconds.
 
On day two, he finished the 110 meter hurdles in sixth with a time of 16.47. He then took third in the discus with a toss of 30.29 meters and fifth in the pole vault at 3.70 meters. After that, Moon collected his fourth event win, this time the javelin. In the lead on his final attempt, Moon threw a career-best 47.37 meters. In the final event, the 1,500 meter run, he placed sixth with a time of 5:09.48.
