SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's track and field team competed against a large field of athletes from all divisions at Slippery Rock University's Dave Labor Invitational on Saturday.

Nearly 1,100 athletes from more than 30 different colleges and universities were in attendance at SRU's William C. Lennox Track, including Division I Duquesne University and numerous D-II programs from around the region.

The Gators produced three top-10 finishes and several more in the top 25.

Freshman Grant Miller (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney Area) placed eighth in the pole vault and was the fourth-best Division III jumper in the event. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Xavier Grove (Pittsburgh, Pa./CAPA) set a new personal record and was ninth out of 24 with a time of 10:12.66.

In the 4x100-meter relay, the team of Aaron Moon (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock), Carter Betz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood), Austin Stewart (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic), and Giovanni Natalie (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) came in sixth place at 45.01 seconds. For Moon, it was his fourth event of the day, while the relay was the third event for Betz and Stewart.

In addition to the 4x100, Moon also placed 11th in the long jump and 12th in the 100-meter dash. Stewart set a PR in the 100-meter dash at 11.33 seconds, and if it weren't for the tailwind, he would have recorded a PR in the 200-meter race as well.
