NCAC Release
CLEVELAND -- Two former student-athletes from the Allegheny College men's track and field team were honored as part of the North Coast Athletic Conference's (NCAC) 40th Anniversary Men's Outdoor Track and Field All-Decade Team.
Allen Baugh '18, the 2018 NCAC Sprinter of the Year, and Bobby Over '14, the 2014 Distance Runner of the Year, were named to the 40th Anniversary All-Decade Team.
The NCAC is celebrating its 40th playing season by selecting All-Decade teams in all 23 championship sports. Student-athletes who competed in the NCAC between the 2013-14 and the 2022-23 seasons and earned Player of the Year honors or who earned a minimum of three All-NCAC first-team nods during this time were named to the team.
In men's track and field, 28 student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments.
As a senior in 2018, Baugh won two outdoor championships and one silver medal. The Trenton, New Jersey, native ran two personal-record times and was first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Baugh was clocked at 11.00 seconds in the 100-meter finals and 22.29 seconds in the 200-meter finals. He also was on Allegheny's second-place 4x100-meter relay team. As a result, Baugh earned 2018 Sprinter of the Year, the first Gator to win the award in 15 years.
One of the most decorated runners in program history, Over has been selected for three NCAC All-Decade Teams, including the 30th and 40th Anniversary Cross Country All-Decade Teams. A five-time All-NCAC selection in outdoor track, the Wadsworth, Ohio, native won both the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000-meter race as a senior in 2014. At the NCAA Division III Championships, Over set a program record in the steeplechase at 8:56.46, as he placed third and received All-American honors. In total, Over was a six-time All-American in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track.
