PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. – Grant Miller (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney Area) and
Jacob Williams (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) of the Allegheny men's track and field team were named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Field Athlete and Newcomer of the Week, respectively, for their performances at the Westminster Invitational this past weekend.
Miller had the top overall placement for the Gators at Westminster. In the pole vault, he cleared a height of 4.47 meters to take third. That mark was his best of the season and currently atop the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) leaderboard. It also qualifies him for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Outdoor Championships.
Williams cleared a height of 1.85 meters to take fifth in the high jump. That height marked a career-best and is tied for second in the PAC. He also carded an eighth-place finish, out of 39 competitors in the long jump with a leap of 6.38 meters.
The Gators are back in action this weekend, competing at Slippery Rock's John Papa Invitational and Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic.
