USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS -- Allegheny College's weight throw champion, Laila Davis (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton), was recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with All-Great Lakes Region honors, as announced on Tuesday.

The top 5 individuals from each event in each of the 10 regions across the country earned all-region accolades for the 2023-24 indoor track and field season.

Davis, who won the 2023-14 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) title in the weight throw, was ranked fifth in the Great Lakes. Her championship-winning mark of 16.16 meters was not only a personal record but also the third-best in Allegheny indoor history. Davis, a junior, added more than five meters to her performance from the 2022-23 PAC Indoor Championships and was more than a meter better than this year's runner-up.
