Softball Ready For Busy Schedule in 2024

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Twelfth-year head coach Beth Curtiss has assembled a 40-game schedule to challenge the Allegheny College softball team during the upcoming 2024 campaign.

The Gators will play 12 games on their home field at the Robertson Athletic Complex and 10 in Central Florida during their season-opening spring break trip. Half the schedule will be against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rivals.

The season begins with Allegheny's annual migration to the Sunshine State for The Spring Games. The Gators will play 10 different opponents across their 10-game stretch, most of which will be played in Clermont, Florida, at the Legends Way. On Sunday, March 3, the Allegheny will kick off the new season with an early 9:15 a.m. matchup against Concordia College (Minn.) and an 11:30 a.m. tilt against Penn State Brandywine.

One of the most difficult non-conference games on Allegheny's schedule will occur in Florida, as the Gators face preseason No. 19 Lebanon Valley College on Tuesday, March 5, at 11:30 a.m.

Allegheny returns to Meadville to host John Carroll University on Wednesday, March 20, at 3:00 p.m. The last entry in the series between the Gators and Blue Streaks was seven years ago in 2017.

Conference action starts at home three days later. Allegheny hosts Bethany College on Saturday, March 23, at 1:00 p.m.

Seven of the next nine doubleheaders are on the road. That includes a non-conference trip to Denison University (3/24), back-to-back meetings at Geneva College (3/26) and Westminster College (3/28), and doubleheaders at Grove City College (4/13) and Saint Vincent College (4/18). Those five PAC opponents were predicted to qualify for the six-team PAC Championship Tournament this spring.

The last doubleheader of the PAC slate is against the defending conference champions and preseason favorites from Waynesburg University. The Gators will host the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday, April 24, at 3:30 p.m.

The regular season concludes at Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York, on Monday, April 29.
