PAC Championship Preview

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. --
The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced the 2023-24 Women's Indoor Track and Field Pre-Championships Poll and Athletes to Watch list ahead of Thursday's meet at Youngstown State University.

The defending champions from the Allegheny College women's indoor track and field team finished in a two-way tie for third place with Washington and Jefferson College. Both teams received 74 points, but the Gators earned two first-place votes, and the Presidents had none.

Westminster College was picked atop the poll with five first-place votes and 82 points, followed by Grove City College with three first-place votes and 78 points.

The 2022-23 PAC Coach of the Year, Ben Mourer '07, returns one individual champion from last season. Junior Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) won the shot put and enters Thursday's meet as one of two Gators seeded in the top five in the event.

Fellow thrower Laila Davis (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) was included on the Athletes to Watch list alongside sprinter Zoe Romanowski (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton), mid-distance runner Renee Tetlow (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva), and jumper AB Snyder (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell).

Davis is the top-ranked Gator in the PAC in her respective events. The junior is currently second in both the shot put (11.82 meters) and weight throw (14.49 meters). Snyder is also second in the long jump with a mark of 5.06 meters, and Tetlow's adjusted 400-meter time of 1:01.14 is second in the conference.

Romanowski is scheduled to participate in the 60-, 200-, and 400-meter sprints. The senior has PR'd in all three events this winter and ranks among the top five in the PAC in all three.

The 2024 PAC Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held at Youngstown State University's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS) on Thursday, February 22. Field events begin at 10:30 a.m., and track events start at 3:00 p.m.
