CANTON, Ohio – The Allegheny women's swimming team competed at the mid-season Malone Invitational Thursday to Saturday (Nov. 21-23) in Canton, Ohio.
 
The Gators finished 10th out of 16 teams at the event, scoring 329 points.
 
Josephine Reiter (Pittsburgh, Pa./CAPA) had the best individual finish for a Gator. She was the runner-up in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.91, just .59 seconds of the pace of the winner from Division II Gannon. Reiter also had a strong finish in the 200 breaststroke, taking third behind a pair of swimmers from Gannon with a time of 2:32.29.
 
Anna Kohler (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) placed 12th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:28.44 and 15th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:03.93. She also took 24th in the 50 freestyle.
 
Emily Arendas (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) took 13th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.56.
 
Katya Pryshchenko (Berwyn, Pa./Aim Academy) placed 16th in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:43.39 while also taking 18th in the 1,650 freestyle. 
 
Kerrigan Swartz (Brookville, Pa./Brookville Area) was 18th in the 200 breaststroke and 21st in the 100 breaststroke. Olivia Johnson (Trafford, Pa./Penn-Trafford) took 18th in the 400 individual medley while Paisley Eveland (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley) was 20th in the event. Grace Wilson (Erie, Pa./Fort LeBouef) was 24th in the 200 freestyle.
 
The Gators best relay finish came in the 400 medley relay as the squad of Pryshchenko, Reiter, Kohler and Magnolia Myers (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Our Lady of the Elms) finished eighth.
