TRAFFORD, Pa. – Sam Kohler (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) of the Allegheny men's swimming team was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week for his performance against Saint Vincent.
 
Kohler claimed victory in two individual races against the Bearcats. He captured the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:17.93, a time which currently ranks fifth in the conference. Kohler also won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:19.55.
 
Additionally, Kohler helped both the 200 freestyle and the 200 medley relay teams win their races.
 
The Gators compete at the three day Malone Invitational Nov. 21-23.
