MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's swimming team wrapped up its regular-season schedule inside Mellon Pool with a dual meet against nearby PennWest Edinboro on Friday evening.
The Fighting Scots (4-5), a Division II member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), secured the victory by a final score of 103-34 against the Gators (1-8).
Allegheny's quartet competed in six individual races and the 200-yard medley relay, earning second place in all seven events.
Junior
Christian Habusta (Erie, Pa./Fairview) swam the 100- and 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 53.95 seconds in the former and 2:05.75 in the latter. Sophomore
Sam Kohler (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) was the runner-up in the 50-yard free (23.37 seconds) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.29).
Freshman
Ryan Owen (Weirton, W.Va./Weir) took second in a pair of mid-distance races. In his first attempt of the season in the 400-yard individual medley, Owen touched the wall in 5:08.49. Classmate
Oscar Zúñiga (San Luis Potosi, Mexico/Instituto Potosino Marista) added a pair of third-place performances in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:21.33) and the 200-yard free (2:43.22).
