INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After capturing the 2024 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship to earn an automatic berth in the Division III Championships, the Allegheny volleyball team will travel to the Christopher Newport Regional to face East Texas Baptist in the opening round on Thursday (Nov. 21).
This marks the Gators fifth appearance at the NCAA Division III Championships, and their first since 1991.
The NCAA Division III Championship Tournament will feature 64 teams with 43 automatic qualifiers and 21 at-large qualifiers at eight regional sites. The regionals will take place Nov. 21-23. The eight regional winners advance to compete for the national title in Salem, Va. Dec. 4-7.
The Gators finished the regular season with a 26-5 overall record, going a perfect 10-0 in PAC play to earn the top-seed in the conference tournament. The 26 wins marked the most in a season since 2003, and it was their first undefeated conference season since 1994. Throughout the season, the Gators put together winning streaks of 11 and 10 games. In the PAC Championships, the Gators swept Westminster in the Semifinals before defeating Saint Vincent in straight sets for the conference crown.
East Texas Baptist enters the tournament on a 27-game winning streak after finishing the season at 28-1 overall. Going 8-0 in conference play, the Tigers won the American Southwest Conference (ASC) by defeating Mary-Hardin Baylor.
