PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Four from the Allegheny College women's soccer team received All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) accolades, highlighted by 2024 PAC Offensive Player of the Year,
Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy).
Miller's record-breaking season earned the senior striker a spot on the All-PAC First Team alongside midfielder
Katherine Surdykowski (Chesterfield, N.J./Northern Burlington County Regional). Midfielder
Madeline Schneider (Poolesville, Md./Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart) was voted to the All-PAC Second Team, while defender
Emma Milligan (Parkesburg, Pa./Octorara) was named an All-PAC Honorable Mention.
One of the nation's best throughout the 2024 campaign, Miller made her mark in her final season on the pitch. She's the only the third Gator in program history to earn Offensive Player of the Year honors, joining a prestigious list that features Allegheny Hall of Famers Nellie Springer Kraus '89 and Georganne Morin '89, who combined for three such awards as members of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) between 1985 and 1988.
Miller broke the team record for points in a season, set twice by Springer Kraus in 1985 and 1986, by compiling 66 points on 27 goals and 12 assists. Not only did she post nine points (4g-1a) in a win over Fredonia State on September 14, but Miller also broke the single-game record with 11 points (4g-3a) in an 11-0 shutout win over Thiel College on October 26. Among Division III leaders, she's tied for second in goals and third in points, while ranking among the top 10 in points per game, goals per game, and game-winning goals.
An All-PAC Honorable Mention last fall, Surdykowski earned a spot on the first team this season. The midfielder more than tripled her point production and finished second on the team in points (28), goals (10), and assists (8). She ended the season strong with points in 11 of her last 14 games, and recorded 22 points in Allegheny's 10 conference matches. She pieced together a four-game goal streak from September 17-28, and logged a season-high five points (2g-1a) against both Washington and Jefferson College and Thiel.
Just like Surdykowski in 2023, Schneider proved to be one of the most talented midfielders in the PAC despite being a first-year. She immediately made an impact, scoring goals against St. John Fisher University and Baldwin Wallace University in two of her first three collegiate games. She recorded a hat trick against Geneva College on October 5, providing all three goals in Allegheny's 3-2 victory. In total, Schneider scored nine goals with four assists, finishing third on the team with 22 points.
Milligan received the first All-PAC award of her career as a junior. A mainstay on the back line, she didn't earn any points but was a crucial piece of an Allegheny defense that posted four shutout victories. Against conference opponents, the Gators conceded only 1.50 goals per game. Milligan played a career-high 1,585 minutes while making 18 starts, and since arriving in Meadville, she has started all 48 games played as a centerpiece of the Gator defense.
In addition to Allegheny's All-PAC honorees,
Emily Beck (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) was included on the PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior, and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes. Beck had arguably the best season of her career, as she compiled five points (2g-1a) while starting 16 of her 20 appearances.
