MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's swimming team began their 2024-25 season at home against Hiram Saturday (Oct. 5).
 
The Gators fell to the Terriers 131-93. Overall, the Gators won eight events on the day.
 
Emmet Fluharty (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) won three of those events for the Gators. He captured the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.26, the 200 breaststroke in 2:31.83 and the 200 individual medley in 2:09.95.
 
Sam Kohler (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) won a pair of events. He clocked first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.92 as well as the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:05.18.
 
Jack Malnar (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) claimed first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:25.81.
 
Eleano Barone (Johnstown, Pa./Palmyra Area) rounded out the Gator winners. He won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.99.
 
The Gators also won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:45.02.
