MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny College Department of Athletics, in collaboration with the City of Meadville, announced a travel advisory for athletic contests taking place at the Robertson Athletic Complex on Saturday, Oct. 26.
There are multiple sporting events at the Robertson Athletic Complex on Oct. 26, beginning with men's soccer at 12:00 p.m. and followed by women's soccer at 2:30 p.m. and football at 5:05 p.m. This date coincides with the annual Halloween Parade in the City of Meadville – the largest nighttime parade in Pennsylvania. With that comes road closures, including two of the main routes through downtown in Park Avenue and North Street. Those roads will be closed beginning at 3:00 p.m. and the closure will run through the end of the parade (anticipated until at least 8:30 p.m.).
Fans attending the events should be prepared to find an alternate route while entering or exiting town. The easiest route into town would be to stay along the French Creek Parkway to the Spring Street exit. From there, turn left at the stop sign onto Terrace Street and then at the next stop sign turn right onto Spring Street and take the hill to the top. At the next intersection (Spring Street and Baldwin Ave), turn left until you come to Allegheny Street on the right. At the stop sign atop the hill, turn left and you will have landed on Park Avenue and will be nearly at the Robertson Athletic Complex.
For those fans who will be utilizing GPS directions, please use this address for the Robertson Athletic Complex: 204 Park Avenue Meadville, PA.
In addition, ALL fans for the day will be asked to park in the upper, grass parking lot above Frank B. Fuhrer Field. This lot allows access for fans to walk to all three venues hosting games that day: the Grass Field, the Blue Turf and Fuhrer Field.
