PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Two freshmen from the Allegheny College football team were recognized by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) following Saturday's 42-6 blowout victory over Bethany College.
Sean Siska (Greenacres, Fla./American Heritage), who made his first career start at quarterback against the Bison, was crowned the PAC Newcomer of the Week, while linebacker
Ty Vickery (Andover, Ohio/Pymatuning Valley) was named the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Siska, only the second true freshman to start at quarterback for Allegheny since 2015, made the most of his first collegiate start. He guided the Gator offense to its best performance of the season by completing 14-of-19 passes (73.7%) for 273 yards and four touchdowns. It marked the most passing yards and touchdowns by any of the team's three starting quarterbacks this fall. Siska's four touchdowns were also the most since Jack Johnson '24 recorded five against Oberlin College on November 13, 2021. As a team, Siska led the Gators to a season-best 456 yards of total offense and their largest victory since beating Kenyon College, 49-0, in 2019.
A contributor on special teams all season, Vickery made his mark as a member of the kickoff, kick return, punt, and punt return units on Saturday. The first-year linebacker logged a season-high three tackles, two of which came during kickoff coverage. Vickery also set up the offense with excellent field position for Allegheny's first touchdown of the afternoon by recovering a fumbled snap by Bethany's punter in the opening quarter.
