TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's swimming and diving team swept the first week of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) awards, as
Josephine Reiter (Pittsburgh, Pa./CAPA) was named Swimmer of the Week and
Paisley Eveland (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley) was crowned the Newcomer of the Week.
Reiter and Eveland helped the Gators win two of their first three meets of the 2024-25 season. Allegheny defeated both Hiram College and Franciscan University in its season-opening tri-meet by scores of 203-33 and 163-92, respectively.
Against Hiram and Franciscan, Reiter won the 100-yard freestyle, the 100-yard breaststroke, and was part of Allegheny's winning 200-yard medley relay. She added two more victories against Penn State Behrend this past weekend, finishing first in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke races. Reiter also placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle against the Lions.
Eveland debuted with two first-place performances in the home tri-meet. In addition to joining Reiter on Allegheny's winning medley relay team, she won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:36.52. Eveland was nearly two seconds quicker against Penn State Behrend, winning the 200 IM in 2:34:91.Â
Reiter, Eveland, and the rest of the Gators return to action on Saturday, October 19, with a road meet at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
