TRAFFORD, Pa. – Samantha Phillips (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) of the Allegheny softball team was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week for her performances last week as the Gators went 5-1.
 
This marks the second time she has earned the honor this spring.
 
Phillips hit .556 for the week with 10 hits and seven RBI on three doubles and a home run. Against Franciscan, Phillips had a combined five hits with six runs driven in and three runs scored. She hit a double in each game and belted her first career home run in the first game. She also had a multi-hit game against Grove City while driving in a run.
 
For the year, Phillips is hitting .456 with 31 hits, 20 RBI and 12 runs scored.
 
The Gators are back in action Wednesday (April 19) when the host Saint Vincent in a PAC doubleheader.
