PITTSBURGH -- Allegheny College men's track and field logged several outdoor personal records at the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational, hosted by the Tartans on Friday, March 24, and Saturday, March 25.
On the track, all of the PRs were earned in the mid-distance and distance events.
Cole Jooste (Upper Saint Clair, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) had multiple PR times, as he did so in both the 800- and 1,500-meter runs. His best finish was in the longer race, where he placed ninth overall with a time of 4:07.46.
Both
Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) and
Patrick Sharp (Brighton, N.Y./Brighton) ran personal records in the 3,000-meter race, as did
Sean Heintzleman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Winchester Thurston) in the 5,000-meter run. Both Freeman and Heintzleman placed eighth in their respective events.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase,
Peter Lantz (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) came in fifth out of 18 in 9:48.69.
In the field events,
Jacob King (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe),
Matt Reynolds (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air), and
Jonah Wells (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield Township) all set new personal bests in the hammer, discus, and javelin.
