RICHMOND, Va. -- The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) honored Allegheny College women's swimming and diving with Scholar All-America honors for an outstanding fall semester in the classroom.
Allegheny was one of 185 Division III, and one of five Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) women's programs labeled a Scholar All-America Team for the fall of 2022. To qualify, a team must achieve a semester grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
Not only did the Gators meet the minimum requirement, but they were tied with four other institutions - Hamline University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, St. Norbert College, and Tufts University - with the seventh-best GPA nationally at 3.71. Thirteen of the 14 student-athletes on the team finished with a GPA of at least 3.0 last fall, including three with a perfect 4.0.
With the 2022-23 regular season now complete, the Gators are a week away from the PAC Championships. The four-day event begins on Wednesday, February 15, and is hosted by Grove City College.
