Day Three Results
GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Allegheny men's swimming and diving team had another strong showing on day three of the 2023 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships Friday (Feb. 18).
Daniel Jackson (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick) had the top time in the prelims of the 400 individual medley at 4:12.61. In the championship final, Jackson placed third with a time of 4:15.14.
Jack Malnar (Brecksville, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) registered the fastest prelim time of the 200 freestyle at 1:46.10. In the championship final, Malnar placed third with a time of 1:46.38.
Pierre Jaeggi (Fountain Valley, Calif./Valiant Prep) had the second fastest prelim time in the 100 butterfly as both he and
Emmett Manning (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) earned spots in the championship final. Jaeggi was the runner-up with a time of 51.40, which improved upon his previous best time 51.44. Manning finished fourth with a time of 52.33.
Dalton Lodzins (Anchorage, Alaska/Chugiak) and
Emmet Fluharty (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) made it to the championship final of the 100 breaststroke. Lodzins finished fourth with a time of 58.92, which is the ninth fastest in program history.,while Fluharty placed sixth with a time of 1:00.66.
Jacob Anderson (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown) made it to the consolation final of the 100 backstroke. He won the heat with a time of 59.32.
The evening concluded with the 200 medley relay. The Gator team of Jackson, Lodzins, Jaeggi and Manning earned another runner-up finish for the Gators, touching the wall at 1:36.03. That time is the seventh fastest in program history.
After three days, the Gators sit in fourth with 328 points.
The event concludes Saturday (Feb. 18) with the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly and the 400 freestyle relay. Prelims start at 10 am while the finals commence at 5:30 pm.
