PAC Release
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- For the second time this season, Allegheny College men's basketball received Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Rookie of the Week honors, as the league recognized
Isaiah Portis (Medina, Ohio/Norwayne) for his standout performance against Penn State Shenango.
In the last non-conference matchup of 2022, Portis turned in a banner effort to help the Gators down the Lions, 107-79. The first-year guard logged career highs in points (21) and rebounds (9). He tied the team lead in scoring, which propelled Allegheny to its highest-scoring game since the 2004-05 season.
In 11 games this winter, Portis is averaging 4.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Portis joins
Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) as the second AC freshman to collect a PAC Rookie of the Week Award.
The Allegheny men's basketball team returns to PAC play tonight at 7:00 p.m., when the Gators visit Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
