Men’s Basketball Clinch Home Playoff Game with Win against Thiel

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny men's basketball team wrapped up the home portion of the 2025-26 regular season schedule with a 68-60 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win against Thiel Wednesday (Feb. 18).

The win clinched a second place finish in the PAC North Division, guaranteeing a first round playoff home game.

The Tomcats jumped out to a 10-5 lead over the opening five minutes. The Gators battled back as they were tied with the Tomcats at 14. Following a block by Pijus Latauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania/Kiski Prep (Pa.)), Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) hit a three in transition to put the Gators in front. On their next possession, Lincoln Brockmeyer (Akron, Ohio/Copley) drained a three to put Allegheny ahead by six. In the latter half of the frame, the Gator lead grew to as much as eight as they took a 35-31 lead into the locker room.

The teams were even over the first six minutes of the second half as each side netted 10 points. Thiel pulled within two points, 47-45, with just over 10 minutes remaining. The Gators responded to that with a quick 8-0 run. Eli Teslovich (Belle Vernon, Pa./Shady Side Academy) accounted for six of the points during that span.

The Gators continued to play well in the second half as their lead reached 14 points, 61-47, with five minutes left. Thiel would cut the deficit to single digits, but the Gators held them off as they picked up the win in their regular season home finale.
