GENEVA, Ohio –
Jacob Boord (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) of the men's track and field team represented the Gators at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, competing in the javelin.
Boord finished the event in 12th place. His first throw of the night went 59.75 meters (196 feet). After a foul on his second attempt, Boord went 61.56 meters (201 feet, 11 inches) on his final attempt.
He qualified for the javelin with the eighth best mark in the country this season. That throw came at the Bucknell Bison Invitational in April. His distance of 62.58 meters (205 feet, 4 inches) broke a 26-year old school record. Earlier this month, he won his second straight North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championship in the event.
