LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Allegheny track and field teams competed at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic April 15-16.
The large invitational featured several of the top Division I, II and III teams in the area.
Jacob Boord (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) finished second in the javelin with a toss of 62.58 meters (205 feet, 04 inches). That mark became the furthest throw in Allegheny history, edging out the distance of 62.54 by Warren Phillips in 1996. Boord currently sits fourth overall in Division III this season with that mark.
Logan Meyer (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) ran in the invitational portion of the 5,000 meter run, placing 52nd with a time of 14:50.44. That time is currently the second fastest in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC).
Peter Lantz (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) ran the 3,000 meter steeplechase and took 51st with a time of 9:53.76, which is the third fastest in the NCAC this season.
The men's 4x100 team of
Tylir Shannon (Transfer, Pa./Reynolds),
Nick Murawski (Grove City, Pa./Grove City),
Holden Ford (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and
Anthony Steinpreis (Tempe, Ariz./Marcos De Niza) ran the fourth fastest time in the NCAC this year as they finished 15th with a time of 43.27.
Megan Aaron (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) finished 32nd in the invitational portion of the 10,000 meter run with a time of 37:08.33. That time is currently second best in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and top-30 in Division III.
Mihaela Toader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) finished 25th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.29 while also placing 30th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.19. Those times rank second and fourth, respectively, in the NCAC this year. Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) moved to second in the NCAC with a time of 2:19.84 in the 800 meter run, finishing in 62nd.
The women's 4x400 team of Emma Anderson (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton), Julieta Schworm (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley), Cocca and Toader finished sixth with a time of 4:08.20, the second fastest in the NCAC. The 4x100 team of Anderson, Eva Martino (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), Melina Mangino (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) and Toader ran a time of 50.03, placing 13th. That time is the third fastest in the NCAC.
