Cullinan's Heptathlon Victory Recognized with PAC Award

PAC Release

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. --
The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) crowned Allegheny College's Stephen Cullinan (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) the PAC Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday in recognition of his outstanding performance at the season-opening Green and Red Multi.

Cullinan, who battled against four Division II opponents from Slippery Rock University and one AC teammate, was victorious in the heptathlon. The senior not only scored a meet-high 4,576 points, but he either won or set a new personal record in each of the seven competitions.

Cullinan's best work came in the field portion of the heptathlon, where he earned three of his four first-place finishes. The Maryland native won the shot put (10.83 meters), the high jump (1.84 meters), the pole vault (4.05 meters), and the 1,000-meter race (2:57.38). He PR'd in the high jump, the long jump (6.28 meters), the 60-meter dash (7.42 seconds), and the 60-meter hurdles (9.35 seconds).

After the first weekend of the 2022-23 indoor track and field season, Cullinan ranks third nationally in the heptathlon.

Following a break for the holidays, the Gators will return to action for the College of Wooster's Fighting Scots Invitational on Saturday, January 21.
